The Northern Magic Circle was formed in 1956 and in April 1957, held its first Easter Parade Convention in Newcastle upon Tyne. Such was the success of this Convention that the N.M.C. has held the same event each year and has just celebrated the 49th Convention in Ilkley, U.K., March 26-28th 2005.
The Convention itself has always taken place over the Easter weekend and, as a result of the changing Easter Holiday, is never on the same weekend two years running. Members and other magicians around the U.K. and abroad know when the Convention will take place and it has become known Internationally as the "Friendliest" Magic Convention to attend in Britain.
The current Council work hard over the year to maintain the high standards set by their predecessors and hope to attract a wide variety of ages and experience to the weekend events.
